Below are the description of all the uses of the working document “Resource calendars”:

“Resource Calendars” is an input for the process “Estimate Activity Resources”.
A resource calendar is a calendar that identifies the working days and shifts on which each specific resource is available. Information on which resources (such as human resources, equipment, and material) are potentially available during a planned activity period, is used for estimating resource utilization. Resource calendars specify when and how long identified project resources will be available during the project. This information may be at the activity or project level. This knowledge includes consideration of attributes such as resource experience and/or skill level, as well as various geographical locations from which the resources originate and when they may be available.

“Resource Calendars” is an input for the process “Estimate Activity Durations”.
The resource calendars influence the duration of schedule activities due to the availability of specific resources, type of resources, and resources with specific attributes. For example, when staff members are assigned to an activity on a full-time basis, in general, a skilled staff member can be expected to complete a given activity in less time than a relatively less-skilled staff member.

“Resource Calendars” is an input for the process “Develop Schedule”.
The resource calendars contain information on the availability of resources during the project.

“Resource Calendars” is an input for the process “Determine budget”.
Resource calendars provide information on which resources are assigned to the project and when they are assigned. This information can be used to indicate resource costs over the duration of the project.

“Resource Calendars” is an output for the process “Acquire project team “.
Resource calendars document the time periods that each project team member is available to work on the project.
Creating a reliable schedule depends on having a good understanding of each person?s availability and schedule constraints, including time zones, work hours, vacation time, local holidays, and commitments to other projects.

“Resource Calendars” is an input for the process “Develop project team”.
Resource calendars identify times when the project team members can participate in team development activities.

“Resource Calendars” is an output for the process “Conduct Procurements “.
The quantity and availability of contracted resources and those dates on which each specific resource or resource group can be active or idle are documented.
